Intro to E-Mountain Biking Holiday

For Casual Bikers

Level Up E-Mountain Bike Holiday

For Intrepid Bikers

Overview

As Samantha Warwick from the Guardian puts it:

“Hermione and Nick have spent years uncovering secret mule runs, old drover paths and farm tracks known only to locals, and planning circular riding treks taking in the best of the undulating countryside.

And pretty spectacular scenery it is, too. The trek starts off in cork plantations and takes in ancient olive groves, chestnut woods and passes through oak forests, where basking black pigs are startled into sudden movement, squealing over stone walls as they flee strangers.”

Taking on the mantle, Eliott and Daisy continue the El Moro legacy. Using the same ’secret mule runs’ and adding a few of their own. Our friends amongst the farming community in the sierra enable us to offer unprecedented access to places normally denied to the visitor.

Guests will be guided through the Sierra on e-bikes, on circular routes. Stopping for lunch in a nearby village and coming back ‘home’ for a dip in the pool before being treated to a delicious home grown dinner in the farm cortijo.

Practical information

How much experience do I need?

For Intro to e-mountain biking week you don’t have to be a ‘pro’ biker, but previous mountain biking experience is preferred. This holiday is about enjoying the lovely countryside the Sierra de Aracena has to offer. However, you will be cycling for around 3-4 hours each day, so an active lifestyle is advised!

For the Level-Up week, you can expect 35-45km, 4-5 hours a day on a mix of 4×4 tracks, bridle ways and some spicy technical sections, ideal to improve your biking skills. This week is aimed for people who mountain bike fairly regularly and enjoy navigating challenging terrain. Eliott will be there to offer workshops and give advice if necessary.

what bikes do we provide?

We have a stable of MOUSTACHE TRAIL 5 Electric Mountain Bikes. They are high quality, full suspension, comfortable bikes. We have a range of sizes to adapt to every rider. Our bikes are perfect for the Sierra’s mountainous terrain, making the uphills a breeze and the downhills smooth and fun!

what should I bring?
  • Padded shorts! They are a must to avoid sore bums.
  • Sturdy footwear, such as trainers
  • Small day-rucksack (10-15 Litres)
  • Any protective gear you’re used to biking with. We provide the helmets but bring gloves, knee pads or anything else you usually ride with.
  • Water bottle
what else can we do during the week?

If requested, Daisy is available to teach Yoga and give massages during your stay.

If you’d like to come with someone who doesn’t bike, they are very welcome to join and walk (a shorter way!) to lunch. Please get in touch for more information.
